WHAT IS TAE KWON DO?
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean unarmed martial art. Literally translated, the word “TAE” means “To kick with the foot”. “KWON” implies “A hand or fist to block, or strike”. “DO” denotes “method or way”. In the USA the word “KARATE” has become a common term and refers to many styles of martial arts. In a broad sense, the different styles of martial arts take a unique approach to reach the same end. Some styles choose linear movements over circular, some choose speed over power, and some prefer kicking over punching still, some styles use all of the above.
